04
Braces
Everything worth knowing before treatment.

A brace is an orthodontic appliance that moves teeth and jaws into the correct position. There are fixed braces (brackets, lingual), removable appliances (for the growing jaw) and aligner trays (Invisalign). The choice depends on age, the clinical findings and your personal expectations.

05
Orthodontics
What the speciality is really about.

Orthodontics is the medical speciality that diagnoses and corrects misalignments of the teeth and jaws. Orthodontic treatment improves function (chewing, speech, breathing) as well as aesthetics. In Switzerland the title “Specialist in Orthodontics SSO” is protected and requires three to four years of further training.

06
Invisalign
Aligners — possibilities and limits.

Invisalign is an aligner system: transparent, removable trays that are changed every 1–2 weeks. It suits mild to moderate misalignments in adults and disciplined teenagers. Minimum wear time: 20–22 hours a day. Cost in Switzerland: from CHF 5,200, depending on complexity and duration.

07
Speed brackets
Fixed · self-ligating

Self-ligating brackets without elastic ties: less friction, gentler forces and usually shorter appointments. A modern evolution of the classic fixed brace.

08
QuickKlear® III (3M)
Fixed · aesthetic

Translucent ceramic brackets from 3M that adapt to your tooth colour. The aesthetic version of fixed treatment — discreet and still precise.

09
Lingual brackets Incognito™
Fixed · invisible

Custom-made brackets on the inner surface of the teeth — completely invisible from the outside. The most discreet fixed solution for discerning adults.

10
Invisalign® clear aligner
Removable · transparent

Transparent, removable aligner trays, changed every one to two weeks. Practically invisible in everyday life, and the end result is visible on screen beforehand.

11
Rapid palatal expander
Growth · transverse

Rapid maxillary expansion (RME): a fixed appliance that widens a narrow upper jaw in a controlled way — ideal during growth for crossbite and crowding.

12
W-arch
Growth · gentle

A fine W-shaped wire arch for gentle transverse expansion in the primary and mixed dentition. A conservative first measure when a crossbite is starting to develop.
